At a Japanese investors meeting yesterday Nintendo released a teaser site for a new original IP currently set for a spring 2011 release date in Japan. The game is called “Pandora’s Tower” and the teaser site features a picture of a girl with a tattoo on her back (which you can see here) she also speaks a few words (all in Japanese) before her picture comes into focus. Hopefully there will be a lot more information released for this game as its Japanese release date draws nearer. Looks like yet another Japanese Nintendo game to add to the list of 2011’s “We want this localized ASAP!!”

Recently I picked up the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (i896) smartphone at a local Rogers Wireless store. Once the box is opened and you look at the phone, the first thing you notice is the gorgeously large 4″ Super AMOLED screen that Samsung chose to use for this phone.

Japan has fully sold out their 400,000 units of 3DS within a short period of time on launch day. Nintendo has planned to ship 4 million units worldwide by the end of the fiscal year on March 31. Out of the 4 million, 1.5 million are slated for Japan. With what is happening in Japan, long lineup in North America and Europe on launch day are expected.

The PSP-3000 model is getting a price drop this Sunday to $129.99 to clear up stock to make room for the NGP and also to combat the imminent launch of the 3DS in Japan in a few days and in about a month in North America and Europe. I think this is a good move on Sony’s part since the PSP has done relatively well, but not what you would call stellar when comparing to the lifetime sales of its direct competitor, the DS. There will be a price drop on some games that have been labeled as Favourites or Greatest hits, priced at $9.99 and $19.99 respectively.

The MacBook Pro line gets a much needed update with the Intel Light Peak Port (aptly named Thunderbolt) which can transfer data at a blazing 10GB/s. A new HD webcam has also been added to the laptop, although FaceTime is no longer free and will now cost $1 from the Mac App Store.
