Slippery Slide Pad

As much as I love my 3DS, I hate how little grip the circle pad actually has! It has nearly costed me a few races on Mario Kart 7 since I picked up the game since my hands do sweat ever so slightly during gaming. This is something I can see Nintendo tweaking for the next redesign with added grip to the slide pad. While you’re at it Nintendo, make the battery last more than 4-6 hours please? I’d like to play a bit longer without having to carry around a USB Battery to power it.

I must say, the 3DS system does have some serious design issues. I rather dislike the slide pad myself (though it does make for some smooth control in 3D games). Then there’s the all-too-reflective part of the system that surrounds the top screen. And there’s also something about the four letter buttons and the D-pad that makes them a pain to use…they’re too small or something like that.

There’s a lot to complain about concerning the hardware, but fortunately the spectacular games make up for it.

  1. Yeah. I’m looking forward to Nintendo releasing a 3DS XL sometime in the future with better battery life and better grip on the circle pad(s). The games are what keep me coming back to a flawed hardware design too. I hope a redesign will rectify alot of these problems.
