Not all 3DS games will be in 3D

Sony PSP2 to be revealed January 27

There’s going to be an announcement for the PSP2 in about two weeks on January 27 and it’s probably for its expected release date and the specs of this device. I’m hoping that they ditch the UMD drive and switch from the uber expensive MS-Pro memory cards to SDHC/XC or Micro SDHC/XC. Guess we’ll have to wait until the end of the month to find out what Sony has in store for the next console

Nintendo Wants To Have No Game Pauses With 3DS

Nintendo wants to avoid gaming droughts with the 3DS and have a more balanced release schedule. With 8 games slated for release with the 3DS, and a couple more waiting in the hangars to be launched in due time, I think the first 6-12 months will be ok.

This is important because Nintendo does not want to have a drop in momentum with the software and hardware sales on the 3DS, which is definitely a high end handheld  gaming device. I’m hoping Nintendo can print those games and assemble this gaming console fast enough to keep up with the demands that the 3DS will have in the coming months.

3DS to have 3-8 hours of playtime

Nintendo had considered a 3D Gameboy Advance

Nintendo had considered releasing a 3D Gameboy Advance but put the idea on hold until the 3DS. The reason that they put the idea on hold was that the LCD screens back in 2001 didn’t have the quality needed to make good quality 3D screens. Also Iwata let slip that the Gamecube was 3D capable as well too but it would have increased production costs by quite a bit. He also mentioned that they did have a 3D version of Luigi’s Mansion as well. At least Nintendo held off on this technology until now, where 3D screens are readily available and are of a good enough quality to pass their quality control.

Kinect causes XBox 360 to RRoD

It seems that the new motion control add on for the XBox 360 causes some of the older models to RRoD. There doesn’t seem to be a specific thing with Kinect that seems to trigger the older models to RRoD, and it may even be caused by the extended hours used when playing Kinect or the extra horsepower that it uses that pushes it over the edge and causing massive overheating.
