Today’s a sad day for Star Wars fans. Carrie Fisher has passed away from a heart attack after a flight from London to LA on December 23. Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd released a statement through a family spokesman saying Carrie Fisher passed away Tuesday morning in Los Angeles.

It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly

Star Wars co-host Mark Hamill tweeted out “No words #devastated”.

Today has been a dark day for the Force. May the Force be with you Star Wars fans.
