Ralph McQuarrie, the concept artist for movies such as the original Star Wars trilogy, E.T. the Extraterrestrial and Battlestar Galactica has passed away on Saturday on March 3, 2012 at the ripe young age of 82.
Ralph McQuarrie will be remembered for his amazing concept art for some of the most memorable franchises around and especially for the concept art from Star Wars, which brought to life things like C-3PO and the iconic hemet that Darth Vader has that was based off of the Samurai in Japan. Rest in Peace Ralph McQuarrie, and may the Force be with you.
