Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection making its way to Europe

Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection is hitting store shelves in Europe on April 22, a few short days after the American release of April 19. It looks like it will be another solid RPG collection for the PSP.

PSP-3000 gets a price drop to $129.99

The PSP-3000 model is getting a price drop this Sunday to $129.99 to clear up stock to make room for the NGP and also to combat the imminent launch of the 3DS in Japan in a few days and in about a month in North America and Europe. I think this is a good move on Sony’s part since the PSP has done relatively well, but not what you would call stellar when comparing to the lifetime sales of its direct competitor, the DS. There will be a price drop on some games that have been labeled as Favourites or Greatest hits, priced at $9.99 and $19.99 respectively.

Felicia Day on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Last night, Felicia Day was on Jimmy Fallon’s show to promote Dragon Age Redemption and also her own web series, The Guild. I think this is a great time to be a fan of these web series based on the gaming world

Gaming One Hour Everyday = Success in Life

Jane McGonigal over at the Huffington Post wrote an interesting article on how gaming can help improve quality of life. In her article, she explains that around 97% of boys and 94% of girls under the age of 18 are regular gamers showing how important gaming is to our lives these days. She goes one step further and makes an attempt to argue that gaming is a way to lead a successful life. While I would tend to agree with her views that gaming is “good for you” in that it is a great form of recreation and a fairly decent social activity, I wouldn’t necessarily believe that it makes people more successful. Regardless, this article is an interesting read and a fresh take on the traditional “OMG gaming kills children” views published in mainstream media.

Marvel vs Capcom 3

One of the most anticipated 2D fighting games, Marvel vs Capcom 3, hits store shelves today! It’s looking like its going to be another solid fighting game to add to the likes of Super Street Fighter 4 and Tekken 6. The addition of new characters into the game like Jill Valentine and Amaterasu make this game all the more attractive. It’s guaranteed a spot in my games library for a long while cause of the replay value that I can get out of it playing it with friends. I’m hoping that there will be more characters available in the future via DLC even though the current roster is pretty awesome as it is right now. I’ll be starting off playing this game with Amaterasu, Ryu and Jill Valentine once I get my hands on this game!
